As another summer winds down and school kicks off, we take a deep breath and stop to thank God for all HE did in and through Sidewalk Ministries this summer - VBS, Camp and Special Events!
We are very excited to share with you that 79 kids attended Vacation Bible School “Twists and Turns” at First Baptist Church this summer!
We bused kids to FBCJax all week long. The kids had a great time and learned how FOLLOWING JESUS changes the game! The kids and students engaged in worship, Bible teaching, small groups, games, crafts, and tons of fun!
To deepen our commitment to minister to teens, Sidewalk had the privilege of sending 16 to Camp! This is a life-changing experience for our students as they are taken from their familiar surroundings and immersed in learning more about Jesus, our Savior and to “Thrive” in the Christian life. They also developed some friendships with other Christ-following teens. We praise God for the opportunity to send these kids to camp!
First Baptist Church, from Cleveland, Tennessee, brought their worship team to Jacksonville. You may have experienced their performance at FBCJax. In addition to blessing us musically, they also came to our Calloway Cove site for a “Monday Funday!” Nearly 40 kids attended and had a blast! It was so much fun to see our Sidewalk kids engaging in singing and worshiping. You will certainly want to take a quick look at this video - it will Bless you!
With these wonderful summer events, we now turn to preparing to launch Sidewalk Funday School at our five locations. We are looking forward to connecting back with all of our kids on a regular basis throughout the school year.
